CloseJesus our Friend - Study group questions: 1. Jesus was moved and troubled and Jesus was tempted. Jesus got tired. Jesus got hungry. Jesus got hurt. Jesus wept. And Jesus went to wedding feasts. Jesus ate and drank with his friends. He rested and slept. What does it mean to us that Jesus was fully human? 2. Are there situations where you have spoken to Jesus as your friend? Do you share your problems and pain and also your joy and pleasure with him? 3. NT Wright suggests that the whole of Hebrews is about Jesus as our personal advocate - "our man at court" or "our man in heaven".(https://ntwrightpage.com/2016/07/12/rethinking-the-tradition/) Look at Hebrews 2 v14-18. How does this help us? 4. I find myself tongue-tied when I speak to my close non-Christian friends about Jesus. If Jesus is my friend, why is it sometimes hard to talk about him with our other friends? What can we do to help this situation?
