Children’s ministry @ St Paul’s
Our weekly children’s ministry is on Sunday at 10 am. We are blessed to have a thriving children’s ministry with devoted leaders and helpers who are invaluable to the ministry. The groups have been divided on school year groups.
Sunday Groups
Each Sunday, apart from the first Sunday of the month when we have our Altogether Service, we have Sunday Groups for children ages 0 years to 13 years. Below is each group we offer for our children and young people at 10am.
Please register your children in Church for all groups apart from Fuse who start in the upper hall. On a communion service Junior Church and Fuse will return to church for a blessing. On Morning Worship weeks collection is from their groups. Lift off requires parents to pick your children up from the Ark each week. (More information below).
Lift Off
Lift Off is for children 0 to 3 years old. Located in the Ark Room, in a side room to the church hall, accessed from outside.
We have a dedicated team who take care of, entertain, play, sing and have bible stories with our under 3s.
Lift Off provides a safe, fun and engaging environment for our babies and pre-school aged children. We hope that this allows you the opportunity of enjoying the church service whilst knowing your children are well looked after.
Junior Church: Sparklers, Sparks & Ignite
Sparklers is for children in Nursery and Reception aged 4 and 5. Sparks is for children in Year 1 and Year 2, aged 5 to 7. Ignite is for children in Year 3 and Year 4, aged 8 to 9.
The above three groups meet in three small groups, each one relating to the children’s age. They have a time of welcome, registration and sharing together, before all three groups join together for a group welcome, bible study, discussion, prayer and a craft. If there’s time, we play a game before returning to Church for communion or waiting to be collected on Morning Worship weeks.
Our children meet together to learn and encounter God and are very much part of our church family.

Fuse
Fuse is for children in Year 5 to Year 8, aged 9 to 13.
The group come together and have a time of fun with games, studying the bible together, talking about what they are reading and learning. Growing in their knowledge of God together in an environment that is age appropriate and fun. They even have hot chocolate!
Meeting in the Upper Hall at 10am each week.

Signing Up for Sunday Groups
There is a registration table in church for you to sign up your children to the either Lift off or Junior Church. Fuse go straight up to the Upper Hall and register there. There are welcomers on the door who will guide you or the children’s team will be in blue t-shirts.
All you need to do is add your child/children’s names to the age-appropriate register, along with the name of the person collecting your child if it is not you. Then you can give your child/children a sticker with their name and logo on it. This will help all to know who is going to which group and to learn one another’s names.
There is always someone at the table to help.
Collection
Sunday groups have different collection arrangements depending on what is happening in the main church service. Please ask one of the team if you are not sure what to do.
Morning Worship
On a Morning Worship Sunday, the children will remain in their groups until the adults have finished in church. We ask that all parents/carers collect their children from their groups promptly after the service.
Communion Service
When it is a Communion service, parents/carers will be directed when to collect their children from Lift Off, then return for a blessing in the service.
Children in Junior Church (Sparklers, Sparks, Ignite) and Fuse will return to church with their group for communion. They will come into church, join the line for Communion and receive a blessing from the Vicar if they would like. Then they will go back to sit with their parents/carers.
