The Merry Opera Company’s: unique and powerful production of Handel’s Messiah comes to St Paul’s on Friday 24th November 2017 at 7.30 pm. The planned repairs are almost finished and the scaffolding will come down in the north/west corner very shortly. However, inspection at high level has revealed the need for urgent repairs to the nave roof where it abuts with the east wall, and to replace a very rotten east window. It makes sense to do these repairs whilst the scaffolding is up, and so the contractors will return after holiday club and remain on site until mid-September. Internal scaffolding will be needed to replace the window, but this will not affect our access through the porch. PCC and Diocesan Registry permission was expedited to save us time and money.
